Our Story

A Journey That Started in 1976
 

My journey in the motorhome and caravan industry began back in 1983 in South Africa. As a qualified welder, I was hands-on with everything – from building bespoke motorhomes and caravans to handling repairs and custom fit-outs. I quickly gained experience in all areas of the RV world, and over the years, I honed my skills working on a wide variety of projects.
In 1999, my family and I made the big move to New Zealand, where I continued to apply my trade, this time in the coachbuilding industry. I spent several years crafting and building various types of vehicles before transitioning to Kea Campers/Action Manufacturing in 2002.

A New Chapter with Kea Campers

At Kea Campers, I took on the role of factory manager, where I managed everything from overseeing the new build production line to prototype development and customer service. It was an incredible experience, and I was proud to play a part in creating some of New Zealand’s most iconic campervans and motorhomes.​

However, with Action Manufacturing relocating to Hamilton at the end of 2022, I felt it was the right time for a change. After years of gaining valuable experience in the industry, I decided to take the leap and start MJs RV Service Centre.

Our New Home in Waitākere

 

Fast forward to today, and here we are in Waitākere, Auckland, with our brand-new premises. We’ve got a 4000 sqm workshop and sales yard, conveniently located close to SH16 and just 10 minutes from Westgate. Whether you’re in need of motorhome and caravan repairs, a new fit-out, electrical certification, or a pre-purchase inspection, we’ve got everything you need under one roof.
